0082 - 自[자] - 스스로, 몸소, 자기 - self, private, personal; from

The Story [이야기] :

  • This character means "from yourself/from oneself/by itself".  It is made up of the character for "eye" 目 plus a small finger ′ pointing to one's nose, just below one's eye, to refer to themselves.  
  • If a person wants to indicate that she will do a certain action by herself, she points ′ to her nose, which is just below her eye.
