0060 - 時[시] - 때 - time, season; era, age, period

The Story [이야기] :

  • It is a pictophonetic character.  The sun 日 suggests the meaning, while the temple 寺[사 → 시] suggests the sound. 
  • To measure 寸 time, the ancients used the sun 日 as a guide as it cast shadows on objects here on earth 土.
  • The "temple of God" 寺 dictates the passage of time and the days 日 in the whole universe.
