The Story [이야기] :

  • This character means "to count/to reckon/to calculate" and by extension, "to plan/to plot/to scheme".  A child must learn how to count from one to ten 十 by clearly speaking out 言 all the numbers.  In this way, the child is able to learn how to calculate and plan.
  • If one's speech 言 is perfect 十, she can set up a stratagem easily to deceive people.  Carefully counted and calculated 十 speech 言 makes up a decent stratagem.

  • This character is made up of "to gather" 亼, "window" 囪, and "to speak" 曰.  Three princesses gather together 亼 and form an organisation.  Their headquarters has many windows 囪 and they meet there monthly to speak 曰 and talk about their lifestyles as princesses.

The Story [이야기] :

  • This is a pictophonetic character.  "Water" 氵 suggests the meaning, while 主[주] suggests the sound.  This character can mean "to concentrate/to focus one's attention or mind into something", but can also mean "to pour/concentrate/focus a certain liquid or gas into a container".
